Cancer continues to be one of the leading causes of death in Nigeria. Tens of thousands of Nigeria die annually, not for the disease but from inadequate or sub standard treatment. Cancer awareness and screening has greatly improved in Nigeria in the last 20 years, with so many advocacy groups and international support, but that is not the case for treatment.. There has been little or no growth in the number of radiation therapy, chemotherapy or even surgical centers in the same period of time St Cyril Cancer Treatment has as one of its main bjectives the building of world standatd cancer centers in Nigeria where patients are treated accurately and respect. Our other objective is to be a source of credible data through the use of a hospital information system, using International Cancer Registry guidelines.
