NCI is collaborating with the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) in France on a case-control study of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) and its genetic and environmental factors in North Africa (Algeria, Morocco, and Tunisia). Investigators hope to gain a better understanding of the role of germ-line genetic variation, including HLA and common SNP genotype in the etiology of sporadic NPC.
