The grant will be used to co-finance the purchase of the Da Vinci Surgical System for the National Cancer Center in Egypt. The Da Vinci system has state of the art new technological equipment used in different cancer surgical procedures that allows safer surgery, reduces operating time, hospital stay and enables rapid recovery of patients by enhancing the NCI's capacity and improving its efficiency. The project would benefit people suffering from cancer in the nation.. This project was identified by RTI International for their own research purposes and some fields do not align with The GO Map categories. End dates were estimated as one year after the start date. The Project Type "Research, Clinical" may not accurately describe this project's focus but was used for all RTI International's Global Noncommunicable Diseases Initiative projects added in June 2018.
