The role cell-cell junctions play during cancer is not well understood. In this proposal we investigate the role played junctional adhesion molecule-A (JAM-A) during ErbB2 mediated tumorigenesis. Our study has strong clinical significance because previous studies have demonstrated that JAM-A is overexpressed in breast cancer and the overexpression correlates with poor clinical prognosis.
